Federico Bellone  

Amazon Program Manager, Fundación AVINA.

Federico Bellone is regional coordinator for AVINA, a philanthropic foundation active in Latin America whose mission is to work for sustainable development in partnership with civil society and business leaders.

He currently manages operations within a network of leading institutions from 5 countries within the Amazon Basin(Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru), working on conservation and climate change mitigation. Also with the AVINA Foundation, he has worked as programme officer managing institutional partnerships for pro poor development and socially inclusive business supply chains.

Prior to that, he has worked out of Spain as consultant for the Spanish foreign aid agency (AECI), designing and operating a programmes in the area of biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods in 9 Latin American countries.

Federico studied environmental science at undergraduate level in Spain, focusing in marine science and bioindicators. He went on to a MSc degree in Environmental Technology at Imperial College in London (UK), specializing in water management.

Born in Italy, he has spent his life between various countries in Europe and Latin America. He presently resides in Brazil, and maintains working ties with other countries.
