Soap Opera Actor Known for General Hospital

Sean Kanan is an American soap opera actor known for his roles in General Hospital (as A.J. Quartermaine), The Bold and Beautiful and The Young and Restless (Deacon Sharpe) and The Karate Kid Part III (Mike Barnes).

Kanan was born in Ohio, although his family later relocated to Pennsylvania. As a teenager, Kanan studied boxing, karate and kickboxing, which helped him dominate the role of Mike Barnes in The Karate Kid Part III. He attended a variety of colleges: Mercersburg Academy, Boston College and UCLA. Ultimately, he graduated from UCLA with a degree in political science.

Kanan also starred on The Outsiders, a 1990 Fox TV series based on the novel by S.E. Hinton.

In his free time, Sean Kanan studies martial arts, writes scripts and cooks. He is politically involved with the Anti-Defamation League and supported Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.
