Afzal Bari is a financial analyst at Bloomberg Government based in Washington DC. He conducts analysis and research on the government’s impact on companies and markets. Since joining BGOV, Afzal has written studies on cyber security, cloud computing, crowdfunding and competition in wireless markets. Before joining Bloomberg, Afzal advised senior executives at global firms as a strategy consultant with the Corporate Executive Board. He has also advised financial institutions and technology companies in emerging markets, including a sabbatical consulting to the Grameen Bank, a pioneer in microfinance. Afzal is a Level II Candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. He holds an MBA from Duke University with a focus on investment finance and strategy, and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland in information technology and government.
