Actor & Director Known for "Roc" and "The Piano Lesson"

Charles Stanley Dutton is an actor, director and producer. He is known for his roles in the TV series “Roc” and the 1995 television film The Piano Lesson. He has won three Primetime Emmy Awards and three NAACP Image Awards, in addition to having been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his performance in The Piano Lesson.

Dutton has also appeared on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for his 1984 Broadway debut performance in August Wilson’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

Dutton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from Towson University and a master’s degree in acting from the Yale School of Drama.
