Jane Vaynman  

Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow

Jane Vaynman is a Stanton nuclear security fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in Washington, D.C. She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Government at Harvard University.

Ms. Vaynman's research focuses on security cooperation between adversarial states, the design of arms control agreements, and the nuclear nonproliferation regime. Previously, she was a fellow with the Program on Global Society and Security at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. She has worked at the Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance at the U.S. Department of State and the Nonproliferation Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and she has conducted research in the Russian Federation on a Fulbright. She was a coeditor and contributor for the March 2011 issue of The Nonproliferation Review, which assessed international responses to the 2010 Nuclear Posture Review. Ms. Vaynman received her BA in international relations from Stanford University with honors in security studies from the Center for International Security and Cooperation.
