Kenneth Griffin is the founder and CEO of Citadel, one of the world's largest alternative asset managers and securities dealers. Citadel Asset Management operates a number of hedge funds engaged in alternative investment strategies, and Citadel Securities is one of the largest options specialists and retail equity market makers in the U.S. Established in 1990, Citadel has more than 1,100 team members in the U.S., London and Hong Kong. Griffin, an active supporter of causes that drive community improvement, serves on the Chicago Public Education Fund board. He and his wife founded The Kenneth and Anne Griffin Foundation in 2009, which invests in high-impact education, health and civic initiatives. Griffin is also on the boards of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Contemporary Art. In the business community, Griffin is a member of the World Economic Forum, G100, the Economic Club of Chicago and the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, among others. Griffin received a bachelor's degree from Harvard College.
