'Randy Williams
Trading life's tragedies for triumphs!
Randy Williams comes from an extremely dysfunctional background. He and his siblings were born into an alcoholic and codependent family where crisis management and turmoil was the norm. He had an abusive, emotionally detached father and an enabling mother.
At sixteen, as sophomore class president, he also had a dark side that only his cohorts in crime knew about. It was carefully concealed from his parents, teachers and other adults who were enamored with his intellect and fooled by his hard luck stories. In that same year, he was involved in a domestic violence incident that led to the end of his parents marriage and the splintering of his family.
Remarkably, two years later, he was an honors high school graduate, which provided him with a scholarship in engineering. The day before university classes were scheduled to begin, a horrific auto-pedestrian accident took the life of his mother and left his younger brother with a debilitating brain injury. Two weeks later, his step-dad was also killed in a car wreck. Two months later, he barely survived a fatal car crash himself in the Colorado Mountains. One of the two fatalities was his only sister who was also his best friend. Ironically, each of these tragedies was alcohol related.
This destruction of his family left him alone, lonely, broken and desperate. Two months in the hospital and eight surgeries later, at the tender age of eighteen, he was forced to make hard choices and decisions that he was not physically or emotionally prepared to handle.
His story is one of unimaginable tragedy, pain and loss; of growing up too fast; of missing out on a normal family childhood. The difficult life lessons he has learned has equipped him with a unique perspective for bringing a message of hope and direction to anyone who is struggling to make it in this life. Trials and tragedies are real but so are triumphs and victories! Randy has a message that resonates in a world where everything seems so cruel, cold, uncaring, insensitive and hopeless.
As radio personality Paul Harvey used to say: And now the rest of the story!
