Katherine Ellison
Pulitzer Prize-Winning Journalist / ADHD Authority
Katherine Ellison—who managed to win a Pulitzer Prize and write three breakthrough books on practical neuroscience despite having ADHD—is an inspiring speaker who teaches audiences how manage distractibility and realize their dreams. Audiences call her “engaging,” “informative,” and “hilarious.”
Her exceptionally productive writing and consulting career has taken her from life as an investigative journalist and foreign correspondent in Latin America to becoming a freelance contributor to The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Atlantic.com. She has consulted for Fortune 500 clients including Google, written speeches for nationally-respected thought leaders like Alice Waters, and speaks to audiences throughout America, including those at top universities and medical groups.
Ellison’s most recent book is Square Peg: My Story and What it Means for Raising Innovators, Visionaries, & Out-of-the-Box Thinkers, a collaboration with Todd Rose, a former high school dropout who now teaches at Harvard. Her family memoir, Buzz: A Year of Paying Attention, recounted the year she spent improving her relationship with her son (also diagnosed with ADHD) and investigating what she calls the ADHD Industrial Complex.
Ellison’s presentations to business, educational, and mental health audiences explore how to make sure you lead the kind of life that enhances your creativity and productivity, connects you to people you love, and brings you authentic success and joy. She also addresses female audiences about the neurological advantages of motherhood and how to make the most of them. Her breakthrough book, The Mommy Brain: How Motherhood Makes You Smarter, was featured on all major TV networks and translated into a dozen languages.
