Delilah

Radio Personality

Delilah is a twenty-five-year broadcasting veteran who began her career in a sleepy little town on the Oregon coast. While everyone else in Reedsport was logging or fishing, Delilah was cutting her broadcasting teeth on a tiny AM radio station. KDUN was The Voice of the Oregon Dunes, and the birthplace of the nationally syndicated radio personality now heard on over two hundred stations across the country.

Delilah is, first and foremost, a woman who loves God and loves her family. It is because of her deep faith and her devotion to her family that she is able to share from the heart each weeknight. Her show is not really a "show" in the traditional sense of the word, but a reflection of Delilah the person: wife, mother, friend, artist. As Delilah puts it, "My job is to live my life to the fullest, then to reflect those things back to my listeners each night."

Her show is not political, nor does she pretend to be a psychiatrist or expert. Delilah takes dozens of calls each evening from people in all walks of life. Young people falling in love, others disillusioned by love ¾ teens dedicating songs to their parents, parents dedicating songs to their newborn babies. Delilah talks to her callers, listens to her callers, and gently reaches into the very core of their emotions.

She weaves these stories together with soft-rock songs whose lyrics speak to the callers situation. A father calls to say he is sorry he missed out on much of his daughters life, but wants her to know hes there for her now, that his commitment will not waver. Delilah plays "If I Could," by Ray Charles. A mother shares a story of her seven-year-old son, who was thrown from a car, and of the compassionate fireman who saved his young life. Delilah rejoices that he survived and plays "Angels Among Us," by Alabama, for the fireman. And so goes the show every night, five hours a night, six nights a week...

She creates vivid word pictures and offers hope and inspiration to millions. In addition to phone calls from listeners and great soft-rock songs, Delilah also interviews recording artists and other stars ¾ Madonna, Bette Midler, Michael Bolton, John Tesh, James Ingram, Jim Brickman all have appeared.

When shes not on the air, she is caring for her six children. Delilah feels strongly about many subjects, but none are as important to her as parenting. Her front porch is filled with dirty soccer shoes, a folding stroller, brightly painted umbrellas and a collection of jackets. Her days are filled with sporting events and science fair projects.

Delilah has been syndicated nationally since 1996. Since Broadcast Programming acquired the show in 1997, its network has grown from twelve stations to over two hundred. Now heard nightly by almost 7 million listeners, Delilah has captivated the heart of the nation.
