Jerry L. Browning

Business Coach, Internal Coaching Specialist & Thought Partner

My career journey has been rich in variety with the common thread of keen interest in organizational life, systems, human behavior, wellness, and helping people thrive. Each juncture of my career from management, training, psychotherapy, nutrition counseling, organizational consulting, and coaching – has helped me appreciate people, recognize strengths in others and myself, and provide support to others so they can nurture themselves for development, growth, and excellence.

Early work experience in large corporations, Paine Webber, Borden, and TWA, developed my keen interest in organizational development, culture, and human behavior. I learned to appreciate fiduciary soundness, the vitality of mergers & acquisition, the turbulence of rapid growth, and the pragmatics of downsize.

I shifted gears toward my interest of wellness spending a decade as a nutrition counselor in family practice settings when preventative and holistic approaches were in early stages of popularity. My path turned back toward organizational life for another decade at L.E.A.D. Consultants where I witnessed some of the world’s best consultants make organizational changes while involving people at deep levels so they could build skills along the way. How fortunate for me to have mentors who were gifted in business and humanity. I knew I had to become trained in psychotherapy because the consultants I admired also had that training, and I realized the value it brought to their work. Now, as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) I continue to learn about people, including myself, and how to bring my organizational work to each person’s life where it matters to them.

During the five years I was at Business of People as an organizational consultant, I served clients that included many industry leaders in marketing, advertising, manufacturing, distribution, labor unions, government, politics, law, and education. I began coaching while at Business of People in 2000, and increased my abilities to help people grow through the guidance of my mentor who owned the business. Now, through Chiron Company I continue to work with professionals in organizational settings, as well as with people in all walks of life who are in personal or professional transition or wanting something different for themselves and their lives.

I am taking courses whenever possible to learn things that can help me and my clients. My most recent training is with Coach U for coaching certification which is in progress, and also with the Field Center, a wonderful provider of innovative development approaches, and where I continue to avail myself of anything offered.
