She won a Tony Award for her role in the play The Little Dog Laughed, and in 2019 she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus. She was also nominated for a Drama League Award for the same role.

Some of the films White has appeared in include Transformers, Monsters vs. Aliens, Inside Out, Lincoln, and A Very Murray Christmas. On TV she has appeared in Designated Survivor, Chicago Med, The Good Wife, Desperate Housewives, and Law & Order. For her stage performances, White has been nominated for three Drama Desk Awards, three Tony Awards, and one Drama League Award.
