Dav Pilkey is an author and illustrator. He has written and illustrated numerous popular, award-winning books for children, including the "Captain Underpants" and "Dumb Bunnies" series; "Dog Breath," winner of the California Young Reader Medal; and "The Paperboy," a Caldecott Honor Book.

Pilkey was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD as a child. He loved to draw and make up stories, and spent his time in creating his own comic books.

Pilkey's "Captain Underpants" series has more than 80 million copies in print worldwide and has been translated into more than 28 languages. In 2017, DreamWorks Animation created a film adaptation, "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie." "The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants" was created into a TV show that streams on Netflix.

Pilkey lives with his wife in the Pacific Northwest.
