Diana N. Adams  

President and CEO Ambac Financial Group, Inc.

Diana Adams is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (AFG) and its principal operating subsidiary, Ambac Assurance Corporation (AAC). She was appointed to these positions in July 2011, concurrent with AFG’s filing of a plan of reorganization. She is responsible for overseeing AFG’s emergence from bankruptcy and for managing the insurance company, AAC, which insures transactions worth $250 billion. Ambac employs over 200 people at its headquarters in New York City.

Ms. Adams has worked at Ambac for 12 years. Prior to her current appointment she served in varying capacities, including Chief Administrative Officer, head of Ambac’s international division, and Chairman of the Board of Ambac’s UK subsidiary, Ambac Assurance UK Limited. Ms. Adams came to Ambac to run its structured finance business in the emerging markets and in that capacity closed over $8 billion in transactions, mostly backed by export and financial receivables. Over time she assumed additional responsibilities for other structured finance areas.

Prior to joining Ambac, Ms. Adams spent seven years at J.P. Morgan in the structured products and capital markets divisions, where she specialized in debt financing for Latin American sovereigns and corporations. In that capacity, she executed bond offerings for Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and structured and executed deals backed by receivables for Pemex, Banamex and the US Export-Import Bank. Before that, she was at Mitsubishi Bank in the acquisition finance group. She started her career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch where she focused on financial institutions.

Ms. Adams holds a JD from Harvard Law School (1988) and a BA in economics from Johns Hopkins University (1984).
