James Allworth    

Co-Author of Best-Seller “How Will You Measure Your Life?” with Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen

James Allworth is currently Director of Strategy for Medallia and co-author of New York Times best-seller “How Will You Measure Your Life?” (HarperCollins, 2012), which he wrote with Harvard Business School Professor and best-selling author Clayton Christensen. He is former Fellow at the Forum for Growth and Innovation at Harvard Business School, a think tank devoted to developing the academic understanding of the innovation process.

Allworth writes regularly on the topics of innovation, technology and property rights for the Harvard Business Review, Business Insider and Reuters. Previously, he worked at Apple Inc. and Booz & Company, and served as a Director of Conservation Volunteers Australia, one of Australia’s largest environmental not-for-profits. Allworth received a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Information Technology from the Australian National University, where he graduated with first class honors. He also received an Master of Business Administration with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.

James will explain the theories in his book, "How Will You Measure Your Life?" and focus on three main areas:

the genesis of the book's ideas and the approach taken to think about the questions above differently understanding motivation and how it is critical in making life decisions developing a strategy and how best to balance calculation and serendipity
