Vaitea Cowan

Enapter Co-Founder & VP of Communications & Marketing; Co-Founder at Women in Green Hydrogen

Vaitea Cowan is one of the three co-founders of Enapter, a company dedicated to replacing fossil fuels with #AEM Electrolysers for low-cost green hydrogen at any scale. Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, Jan-Justis, and Cowan worked on the Phi Suea House in 2016, which became a lighthouse project for green hydrogen in Southeast Asia. In 2017, they confounded Enapter and grew the team from 11 to 230 by 2023. Cowan heads Enapter’s communications today and is based in the Berlin office. Cowan is also passionate about the inclusion of women in renewable energy and co-founded Women in Green Hydrogen to help support the building, launching, and growing of women in the industry.

Cowan was listed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Energy 2020. In 2022, she hosted a TedTalk titled "How green hydrogen could end the fossil fuel era," further expanding her and Enapter's mission to power the world via renewable energy sources and make green hydrogen affordable and accessible to all. Among other awards, she supported Enapter in winning the inaugural Earthshot Prize “Fix Our Climate,” launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation. Cowan graduated with a bachelor's in commerce from Concordia University's John Molson School of Business (Montreal).
