Ethan Rasiel is the author of the international bestsellers The McKinsey Way: Using the Techniques of the World’s Top Strategic Consultants to Help You and Your Business, (McGraw-Hill, 1999) and The McKinsey Mind (co-written with Paul N. Friga; McGrawHill, 2001).

He graduated Summa cum Laude from Princeton University with a BA in History & East Asian studies in 1986. He received his MBA in Entrepreneurial Management in 1990 from the Wharton Business School, at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was also the head writer for The Wharton Follies, a two-hour song, dance, and sketch comedy stage extravaganza. Raisel then worked at the New York office of McKinsey & Co., the management consulting firm, for three years, where he consulted to a variety of clients, mainly in financial services. In 1992, he left McKinsey and moved to London, where he joined Oakes, Fitzwilliams and Co., a ‘boutique’ investment bank. In late 1994 he decided to dedicate his time to writing full-time.

Raisel lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he divides his time between writing, consulting, speaking, and teaching and training martial arts.
