Charismatic television and film actor Terrence 'J' Jenkins is the new co-anchor of E! News alongside Giuliana Rancic on the acclaimed E! network. The wildly successful pop culture news show is dedicated to keeping its millions of viewers up to date on everything related to the entertainment industry. Jenkins, who is no stranger to hosting, was the co-host for seven years on BET's 106 & Park, the longest-running music countdown show in history.
Jenkins recently joined the cast of Fox Searchlight's upcoming feature Baggage Claim alongside Paula Patton, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Luke, Taye Diggs, Jill Scott, and Christina Milian. In early 2012, he starred in the box office smash hit Think Like a Man alongside Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, and Kevin Hart. The Sony Pictures release was a worldwide success and was adapted from Steve Harvey's popular book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. In addition, Jenkins was recently seen in the Sony Screen Gems remake of Sparkle, starring alongside Jordin Sparks, Mike Epps, CeeLo Green, and the late Whitney Houston, in what was her last on-screen role.
As a civic-minded member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, Jenkins has used his community-oriented upbringing to work as a spokesperson for Ronald McDonald's House Charities Future Achievers Scholarship Campaign, a mentor with Steve Harvey's Disney Dreamers Academy, and an avid supporter of the Newark, New Jersey, Boys and Girls Club. He also serves as vice president of Crown Life branding in addition to being an ambassador for Crown Royal Whiskey. He has played a key role in helping promote Crown Royal's Safe Rides Program, in which pre-paid taxi voucher cards are distributed to patrons at select The Crown Life events across the country.
A firm believer in taking advantage of the opportunities given to you, Terrence 'J' Jenkins continues to speed down the fast track while espousing his strong values and activist ideals. "I'm not here to make money," he says. "I'm here to make history."
