Bill Hader is an actor, comedian, writer, producer, and director. Hader's prominence skyrocketed during his impressive eight-year tenure as a cast member on NBC's iconic sketch comedy series, "Saturday Night Live," from 2005 to 2013. This stint earned him acclaim, marked by four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Peabody Award, as he brought to life a plethora of memorable characters. Among these, his portrayal of Stefon Meyers, a flamboyant New York nightclub tour guide on the "Weekend Update" segments, became a fan-favorite due to his spot-on impressions and comedic flair.
Hader's creative talents further flourished when he co-created the HBO dark comedy series, "Barry" (2018–2023), alongside Alec Berg. Notably, he assumed the lead role as Barry Berkman and played an instrumental role as producer, writer, and director. The series received widespread acclaim, amassing eight Emmy Award nominations, with Hader securing two consecutive wins for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series". In addition, Hader is a driving force behind the IFC mockumentary comedy series, "Documentary Now!" (2015–present), a collaborative effort with Fred Armisen and Seth Meyers that underscores his versatility in humor.
Hader's filmography is equally impressive, encompassing notable supporting roles in Hot Rod (2007), Superbad (2007), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Adventureland (2009), and The BFG (2016), alongside leading performances in The Skeleton Twins (2014), Trainwreck (2015), and his portrayal of adult Richie Tozier in It Chapter Two (2019). His vocal prowess shines as well, lending his voice to prominent characters in an array of films, including the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs franchise (2009-13), Turbo (2013), Inside Out (2015), Power Rangers (2017), and Toy Story 4 (2019). Through his multifaceted career, Hader has consistently demonstrated his remarkable talent and left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.
