Tom Del Beccaro

2016 U.S. Senate Candidate, Former Chairman of the California Republican Party & Author of "The Divided Era: How We Got Here and the Keys to America's Reconciliation"

Tom Del Beccaro is the former Chairman of the California Republican Party and a nationally known advocate of conservative principles who has been involved in grassroots politics for decades.

As Chairman of the California Republican Party Tom fought tirelessly to defend a principled party platform and advocated for free market ideals. Under his leadership the party made groundbreaking efforts to reach out to a broader range of voters, including holding the first ever Latino town hall which was aired live on Univision and the creation of a robust team of volunteers tasked with delivering the conservative message to Latino voters.

Prior to serving as state party Chairman, Tom served as Vice Chairman of the California GOP and as Chairman of the Contra Costa County Republican Party. While serving at the county level, Tom helped lead a district with one of the lowest turnout levels to being the best in the state. He also organized over 1,000 events in support of conservative candidates, organizations, and causes.

Tom is also at the forefront of advocating on behalf of conservative principles in the media as an author, online publisher, television commentator, and a contributor to numerous publications. His articles can be found in Forbes, USA Today, Politico, RealClearPolitics.com, The DailyCaller.com, Breitbart.com, and many others. He has appeared on Fox Business News, The Wall Street Journal’s Opinion Journal, and has made hundreds of radio appearances on stations across the country. Additionally, Tom is the Publisher of PoliticalVanguard.com, and author of "The New Conservative Paradigm and The Divided Era" (released on May 26, 2015).

Like many, Tom’s conservative values were shaped by his upbringing, and the many challenges and trials he has faced throughout his life. Born the 6th of 8 children in 1950s Chicago, Tom worked his way through high school as a dishwasher. In college, Tom spent summers working in the salmon fishing industry in Dutch Harbor Alaska, now the site of the popular show "Deadliest Catch." Tom was also shaped by his studies of international law in Singapore, and his experiences as a trained mediator. He has also been a small business owner for 20 years, working as an attorney who specializes in helping new businesses succeed by understanding relevant laws and regulations. However, Tom’s most influential role is one that remains ongoing: he has been a single father to his daughter, now 22, since she was 2 years old. Like many parents, Tom spent a decade coaching soccer and little league, and looks forward to a lifetime of fatherhood.

Because of his roles spanning from a nationally known media contributor to a local elected official, Tom has had the opportunity to feel the pulse of politics ranging from local traffic councils to the federal level. These experiences have given him an understanding of the many issues – big and small – that are important to Californians and uniquely qualify him to effectively serve us in the U.S. Senate.

Tom is the only candidate in the race with a strong record of fighting against Obamacare and the imposition of new taxes. As California’s next U.S. Senator, Tom will not only continue his fight for conservative values, he will effectively communicate those values to fellow representatives and Californians.

Tom received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and his law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and remains a practicing attorney.
