Author, Expert on Cross-Cultural Management & Multi-Cultural Leadership; Professor & Program Director for Leading Across Borders & Cultures program at INSEAD

Erin Meyer is an author and professor at INSEAD Business School in Paris, one of the leading international business schools. Her work focuses on how the world's most successful managers navigate the complexities of cultural differences in a global environment. She helps companies develop organizational cultures that breed both flexibility and innovation and offers cutting-edge strategies to improve the effectiveness of projects that span the globe.

Her interest in cross-cultural management started during her years as a Peace Corps volunteer, where she taught English in Botswana. She teaches cross-cultural management at INSEAD and is the program director for the Leading Across Borders and Cultures program. Meyer has received many honors for her impact in the business and leadership field. She has been listed on the Thinkers 50 list multiple times and was awarded the Most Influential Thinker award by HR Magazine in 2017.

Meyer has authored two highly acclaimed books: "The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business" and "No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention," the latter of which she co-authored with Netflix CEO Reed Hastings. In her first book, "The Culture Map," she analyzes how national cultural differences impact business and represents collective research data from over thirty different countries. The Eight Scales, a framework she developed in her book for evaluating different cultures and offering strategies for improving international success, has been developed into a self-assessment tool for Harvard Business Review.

Her second book, "No Rules Rules," is a New York Times best seller and deep dives into the corporate culture at Netflix and the role its had in enabling the company's speed, innovation, and flexibility. Written as a handbook, it provides practical advice and steps that leaders of other teams and organizations can adopt in order to develop an innovative work environment. Meyer is also frequently published in Harvard Business Review and has been published in the New York Times Sunday paper, Forbes.com, and The Times of India.
